I'm in need of a SMPS converter for solar/wind installations. The client initially had a 12V system, using a crude shunt regulator to charge batteries via a Morningstar module. Now he's moved to 24V batteries and wants to upgrade the power interface to a buck-boost Done some Googling and looked at datasheets and schematics. One device that looks somewhat promising is the LTM4607 http://www.linear.com/pr/4607 http://cds.linear.com/docs/Datasheet/4607fa.pdf It's attractive because of the efficiency and component count, and it can be extended to 30V http://cds.linear.com/docs/LT%20Magazine/LTMag-V19N1-11-LTM4605_07_09-JudySun.pdf but I'd like to hear of any other proven options to investigate.
