What do folks think of these two newly announced vaporware technologies ? http://www.pcworld.com/businesscenter/article/173699/wifi_direct_could_be_the_death_of_bluetooth.html http://www.ti.com/ww/en/analog/bluetooth/index.htm Meanwhile I have been following Near Field Communications and while there have been some exciting announcements ..... everything seems geared to users who will buy millions of chips. Phillips announces chips but I cannot find out any details. Is NFC truly going to be useful ? I can understand vendors not wanting to support small quantity users but why go so far as Broadcomm does , for example , and keep everything super -secret using NDAs ? ( Broadcomm does not do NFC as far as I know ) What is going to be the next "hot" thing in wireless ?
