A couple of years ago I did a little research on Thief River Falls, Minnesota. The place is quite dependent on two large employers: Digikey and Arctic Cat. About 1/3rd of the people work for Digikey, 1/3rd for Arctic Cat, and the other 1/3rd work for small service-oriented businesses which serve the other 2/3rds :) See: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thief_River_Falls,_Minnesota (tells you that the population is 8400 people) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digi-Key (1900 employees) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arctic_Cat (1630 employees) Typically, the workforce is about 75% of the population. That's 6300 people in TRF's case. 30% of those work for DK. 26% for Arctic Cat. 44% for other businesses.
