For interest, and you probably are well aware of this, a healthy and fit person can have longish periods without heart beats when lying down. When my daughter was very young we noted that her pulse would skip beats when she was lying down - sometimes for a significantly extended period. Needless to sat\y we were concerned and got her checked. We were assured that in her case it was totally OK and very normal. Results to date indicate that they were correct :-). Some old engines "hit and miss" used regulate speed in a similar manner. On no load they run for many rotations without firing. It's scarier when a heart does this.
