Good point...hadn't looked at that but your right. However, in this case I = am doing 3 different jobs, and are all proto boards so the ref des isn't cr= itical this time around because I only need one or two boards of each desig= n and can deal with the ref des. I suppose I could go in and hand edit the= ref des such that it didnt carry over from board to board. The guys I use= give a deal on a panel, so either I end up with extra boards (we all have = a box full of those dont we) or I combine to get 3 different proto designs = all at the same time. --- On Wed, 10/21/09, Robert Young wrote: > From: Robert Young > Subject: RE: [OT] combining gerbers for panels (eagle) > To: piclist@mit.edu > Date: Wednesday, October 21, 2009, 6:20 AM > = > = > > Date: Wed, 21 Oct 2009 05:47:19 -0700 > > From: micro_eng2@yahoo.com > > Subject: Re: [OT] combining gerbers for panels > (eagle) > > To: piclist@mit.edu > > = > > Actually I may have found a way to do this, not sure > how repeatable but looking at the files in GerbMagic, it > seems to work ok. > > = > > Open the board file without the schematic. > > Make sure all layers, etc are active > > select all, then cut to the paste buffer > > Edit--> paste brings up a new copy of the board and > just place where you want it to be in the "panel" > > = > > Of course the schematic is now no longer associated > and you need to remember to rename the panel board file else > your original is gone.... > > = > = > The other problem is you can no longer have duplicate > component names in your silk screens. > = > For example, R1 might become R99 in the copied board. > = > Rob Young > rwyoung@ieee.org > = > =A0=A0=A0 > =A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0 > =A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0 =A0=A0=A0 > =A0 = > -- = > http://www.piclist.com PIC/SX FAQ & list archive > View/change your membership options at > http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist > = = -- = http://www.piclist.com PIC/SX FAQ & list archive View/change your membership options at http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist
