It's not uncommon in the LCD world to have a datasheet describe the number of monochrome pixels the display actually has, rather than the number of full-color pixels - in fact it's an important distinction to note when choosing a controller that matches the LCD. Since the press release was largely aimed at those specifying LCDs for applications, it's not an unreasonable bit of information to include, especially since they clarified it by listing its RGB resolution. But, IIRC, camera manufacturers do list their LCD display resolution as monochrome pixels, rather than RGB pixels (ie, 230k pixel display is on the order of 320xRGBx240, and the more common for camera purpose LCDs are around 262k, which is somewhere around 360xRGBx240 in a 3:2 format). So, yeah. I can understand Epson adding it to their literature (including the press release) but when it goes beyond that it's annoying. Not unlike Twizzlers (red licorice candy brand) listing "NO FAT" on the packaging when it's never had fat, nor does any other common brand of red licorice.
