Hi,

does anyone know if common lawn tractor batteries are deep 
discharge ? I want to use a 12 volt battery to power a 
mobile robot. The two motorss I am using say the stall
current is 10 amps.

I am looking at the local pep boys and they have a decent 
selection of lawn & tractor batteries. They also have a 
resonably priced marine battery (I know that is deep 
discharge ) and some motorcycle/atv batteries.

Are motorcycle/atv batteries deep discharge ?  I think they 
are because they list the same battery for motorcycles/atvs/ 
and some electric scooters.

So my thinking is

Car Battery -- not deep discharge 
Marine Battery -- Deep Discharge
ATV/Motorcycle -- Deep Discharge
Lawn Tractor -- Don't know ???

I am trying to find the best power to weight ratio in my 
price range.
