I know it is not as exciting as building neat interfaces, but a given dairy could have ten different styles of RFID tags and it wouldn't involve the testers buying so much as one resistor. It would be a matter of maybe installing a piece of software on the existing computer to gather all the ID's in whatever form does the job.
