I have a system where there are a few types of dynamic data, and all of them have fixed sizes. What changes is how many of each type is needed at any time. And sometimes when one type is in use, by design, other types are not needed. Another example, to avoid priority inversion I have a queue of messages (real text messages, for LCD). The message length may vary from a couple up to 32 bytes, but I always allocate in multiples of 16 bytes.
