I take them to the battery rebuild shop down the road from me. They've got some really nice tabbing equipment - the owner tells me that they cost him upwards of 20K each (he has 3 units). I've actually got an old tabber here in my shop - its ancient and it doesn't work all that well. Basically, it looks something like a spot welding transformer that is fed with the charge stored in a large, high-voltage electrolytic capacitor. There's a huge, open-frame relay that does the charge dump. I'll get around to playing with it someday. In the meantime, its just easier to get the pros to assemble the batteries for me. dwayne -- Dwayne Reid Trinity Electronics Systems Ltd Edmonton, AB, CANADA (780) 489-3199 voice (780) 487-6397 fax www.trinity-electronics.com Custom Electronics Design and Manufacturing -- http://www.piclist.com PIC/SX FAQ & list archive View/change your membership options at http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist
