Don't be. Much can be learned when people share disparate views - sometimes even when they are shared in a sarcastic manner :;-). It has been my personal experience that food's with high acidity can cause a degree of indigestion. Reardless of whether this does or doesn't affect long term health it undoubtedly causes short term discomfort. Perhaps people with a permanently acidic disposition do not have the same problem ? ;-). A relative grows a variety of low acidity tomatoes. I like tomatoes and had never noticed that they had an overly negative effect on me until I ate these low acid versions. It was only when I observed the lack of effect that I realised that most tomatoes cause me a degree of gastric discomfort when eaten. Also, probably not directly related, I was inobservant enough to not notice for the first 24 or so years of my life that onion had a similar effect on me. I only 'discovered' this when I got married and my wife commeneted on how onions upset her stomach. In retrospect this was highly obvious but I had never managed the obvious cause and effect correlation. I like onion but, even in very small doses, it doesn't like me.
