>> The device is a must have, it stores/initializes a PC program which makes >> phone calls on any internet connected computer. It also stores your USA >> phone number, major contact phone list, phone call histories, etc. I am using pfingo.com, they have local phone number for Australia, China, UK , USA and Singapore. With this number, you are also reachable by normal landline or mobile line. You can install the pfingo client on PC (just like any other VOIP client), and also on supported smart mobile phone. My usage is through my mobile phone, so I just choose any number/contact I want to dial from the phone contact list, and instead dialing through normal voice call, I choose internet call. The phone shall connect to pfingo if it is not already connected. I do not have a data plan for my mobile phone, so the connection is through the wifi access point. For a mobile SOHO, I got a unlimited mobile broadband connected to a 3G wifi router (Aztech HW550 S$79). With this setup, I got my internet and telephony for a subscription plan of US$10 per month. Shall be adding a wifi IP Camera to the setup later. Disruptive technology, this is it. Key points: local number, no additional device, work seamlessly with smart mobile phone, work with mobile broadband.
