I applied all the suggestions at the same time as I built the pages. I put a list of keywords in the headings of the pages ... although I have read that google doesn't pay much attention to that anymore. I also used meta tags. I made sure the 'content' was filled in with a brief description of what my site was about. My domain name also describes what the site is about ... and I believe that has a fair weighting in googles decisions. Another thing I felt may have contributed was that I labled every image with words that were relevant to my content ... not just "image_1", "table_7" .. but "4600 Detacher" or "PRISM Pulsator" etc. The reason I think this is because with some of the search terms on 'google images' ... on some results, sometimes half the images on the first page are from my site .. and I reckon I've even searched one term that brought up images on the first page that were ALL from my site. I'm almost a little embarrased by that :) After putting the site up, I submitted it to google and waited. I didn't even get around to submitting it to yahoo or any others .. though it shows up in their searches now too. Overall I'm amazed at the results ... but was certainly more good luck than good management. :) Regards, Roger -- http://www.piclist.com PIC/SX FAQ & list archive View/change your membership options at http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist
