Just to add to the confusion, , yesterday I heard of a guy in Auckland getting 30Mb/sec at home on the new TNZ "VSL" (or "VDSL" ??) system. Mind, he is one of the Telecom bosses!. This system uses fibre to a point near the home and a copper connection into the home itself. Not sure if a special modem is required or if the ADSL2+ modems handle it. Also, for some time we've been hearing about subscribers in Sydney getting 24Mb/sec on ADSL2+.
