Hi all, I am looking for the typical carrier frequency accuracy for AM broadcast band stations in the US. This is something that I thought would be easy to find on the web but I can't seem to do so. I tried the FCC rules and couldn't find this in the part which applies to AM broadcasting. General web searches didn't bring up any useful results, either. I am sure someone here knows, perhaps Harold H.? I am asking because I was trying to use a few strong local AM stations to check the calibration of a used spectrum analyzer's frequency reference. When I check it against a Fluke 6060A signal generator I have, I get a 6ppm discrepancy. When I looked at two local AM stations, I got 10ppm for one and 17ppm for the other. The analyzer is supposed to be good to 1ppm. I'm not entirely sure of how good my 6060A is, since I bought it on eBay "guaranteed not DOA but no further testing". However, it has the high stability ovenized reference option and when I beat it with WWV on 10MHz, I cannot discern any beat (so it has to be better than 1/4 Hz or so at 10MHz).
