I've got several examples of well working code that uses periodic interrupts to sample the quadrature lines. In fact I used this scheme recently for someone here on the PIClist. They were decoding a rotary thumbknob with detents. According to them and my own testing, my routine tracks the thumbknob very nicely. ******************************************************************** Embed Inc, Littleton Massachusetts, http://www.embedinc.com/products (978) 742-9014.
