Try it out on a test directory with only a few files first. Makes for a
quicker feedback whether it worked. If that works, try a small tree, and
only then, with more confidence, a big setup.

Other than that, there's xcopy (part of Windows) and RoboCopy
(Microsoft). Both can be set up to sync directory trees.
