I had a bad experience with this sort of thing. It turned out that we had
put a conformal coating on the board to avoid dust and humidity.  But the
coating had a leakage of its own, and it wasn't even a constant value.  So
if you get a bright idea like we did, check the material and whatever
application info is available rather than just doing it.

Same project where we learned to shield the glass diodes from light :)
