They have thier offices in canada and thier manufacturing in china, yes this adds a few days "shipping" (really flying and processing) but the fact they offer one week lead times at reasonable prices makes up for this IMO (I can't imagine fedex from china to australia will be much different than fedex from china to the UK). Their standard design rules are also such that most basic designs will comply without alteration. > Probably only needs to be single sided, as will have a handful of smd parts > ... but will also need to have holes drilled for a 16 pin DIL socket > (though I could drill them myself if needed .. with such a small number). > > For anyone with experience with the Aus market .. what sort of price range > would you expect to pay GPs prices for basic jobs are listed at http://www.goldphoenixpcb.biz/quote2.php , about USD $110-$160 depending on exactly what you need (electrical testing, rohs finish etc) and how you pay. For that price you should get about 80 of your boards. > ... and what sort of time frames should I expect > ... from initial contact to board in hand? > With GP a day or so to get the quote, a weeks manuacturing and a few days delivery, typically just under a fortnight all in. > I have no recent experience in designing pcb's, so what format is likely to > be required? > gerber and nc drill files usually. Typically a gerber is used for the board outline too and the board house will generate thier milling pattern from this. -- http://www.piclist.com PIC/SX FAQ & list archive View/change your membership options at http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist
