Hi Pete, Well, CARiN is the name of a navigation computer system (you probably know that already). When I looked up CARiN, I found an article from 1999 which says that it used the "SY059 navigation computer", which appears to be a mobile Intel Pentium MMX chip, which is listed as a BGA package. However, I could not find anything which listed the exact part number you mention. However, I DID find this page: http://www.lagunaclub.ru/forum/showthread.php?t=3D9748 Which appears to be in Russian, but lists a very similar text from the top of an IC. Perhaps if you translate it, you may be able to get some information. He seems to mention various car navigation systems. I tried translating it and it appears that your chip may be a video IC.
