All the ones I've got here seem to be the same flex as everything else, and they all claim to be 10A. I do have a couple of weedier ones, maybe they're 6A. You're right, the plugs do have 10A on them but I doubt the flex would handle it. I have seen the 6A rating on the filtered IEC sockets though.
