Eight mm is the spec for clearance Line -Earth on pcbs - it allows for 
tracking across the surface.  With an air gap this can be reduced - 
hence the slots cut in some pcbs between tracks. Your spacing from the 
chassis is fine - no extra insulation required.

Sorry - old habits - BTC=Bare Tinned Copper wire.  Used with fibreglass 
sleeving in old oven internal wiring  for example.
