I have an application where I need to burst out up to 3A at 7Vish for 10mSec, so either using some AA in series, or a 9V.  The question I am trying to determine is how much burst current I can get out of a battery before it gives up.  I was also thinking perhaps using some sort of capative disharge circuit.  The burst itself will be gated using a FET.

Has anyone done any research on this?
