I've had a half dozen speedo-odos in the last 20 years. They work for the warranty period + 1 day, then the reed switch fails. If you can get a replacement, invariably it's a special order item which costs nearly as much as a new unit. I've also had a couple which ate a SR44 battery every two weeks. This is normal, according to the warranty bwanas. My cycling buddies mostly buy new units every year or so. I just decided to live without them. So far that works pretty well, but I'd be interested in a genuinely robust solution.
