Can I use this programmer to program the 18F2550 too with >> a firmware? > > yes, you can- they only differ in output ports. Now I'm trying to program the PIC 18F2550 with Pikdev. When I hit F6 the 'Builtin PiKdev programmer - PiKdev' window pop up. Current settings is 'p18f2550' with the approppriate firmware .hex file. I can detect the PIC 18F2550 here. The field of 'Program memory (16 bits words)' shows the values 'FFFF': from address 00000000 to 00007FF0 and the field of 'Data memory (packed 8 bits words)' shows the values 'FFFF': from address 00F00000 to 00F00050 When I hit 'Ctrl+P' to program the PIC the status line shows OK at the and. When I Verify or Read the PIC it's OK again. But the fields don't changes values so I have a feeling that the PIC 18F2550 isn't programmed at all. Am I make a mistake here and if, what?
