Had we used google maps first we would have know it wasn't there anymore. I do still navigate the "old" way from time to time just to keep my skills well tuned. I've regularly used my Garmin Nuvi in situations where there was no GPS signal and it's easily as useful as a paper map. To each his/her own I suppose.
