Maybe we just forgot that the same was possible before without electronic devices :-) I remember when I lost the GPS signal in Paris -- I was just too much trusting that device and had no traditional map with me. It was 10 times more difficult using an electronic map without the GPS coordinates than using the good old paperback street map.
