If you have tried different computers, different operating systems, and different SX-Keys, then the most likely culprit is your circuit.  Can you post a schematic of your circuit?  I know you say it's basic (I'm sure it is), but there may be some subtle error.  Also, a photo of your circuit with SX-Key attached might provide some clues.
