He said that he was going to break with tradition and not show the sales graphs and figures for this year ("because they are down"), expressed surprise at the fact that there are many types of DC motors, and asked the audience "how many software engineers does it take to change a light bulb?" In other news, Microchip discontinued its free samples program due to its abuse, although regular customers and MASTERs attendees can still get them for free. XLP is the new ultra-low-power technology from Microchip and, according to Sanghi, can be used as a verb. "To XLP something" means to greatly reduce its power consumption.
