I suppose if I did this from the beginning and always popped off all the mail from the gmail server it could work, but I am concerned that popping 7 GB might be too much for the client? Is there any client you recommend and that also manages the folding of threads like Gmail does it? 'Gmail Backup' is nice in the way that it can selectively backup from a date to a date (http://www.gmail-backup.com/) Then I compress the year segments and file them... or if I get a new hard disk I might put it all in one folder and seartch it if needed! I haven't really checked if attachments come down correctly though! With pop this should be no issue right?
