Interesting.  I never thought about that before so I measured my handspan.
I'm right handed but my right handspan is 9 1/4 inches and the left about 8
3/4.  I also noticed my right thumb from the outermost knuckle to the tip is
a bit longer than the left thumb.  I have no idea why, but that looks like
it's bone size, not a muscle issue.
