Nothing stops you from coding with Notepad... Alas, the choice is not always mine. And if I do have a choice I like a better *editor* than notepad. I must switch PCs very often, so "you can configure it any way you want" is not enough. So I still beg that by default an editor should put into a file exactly what I type.
