Wow, I was doing some reminiscing of the days from about 15 years ago where cable converter "test chips" were popular. I was doing some searching on Google and I found a few sites that still sell the quick boards. What I just realized was that the quick boards have PIC microcontrollers on them. Now that I have a little experience with microcontrollers and a botchy education of basic electronics, passive components, etc, I would love to know what the PIC actually did to manipulate the converter boxes' programming. Has anyone looked further into this ?
