Hi Mike,

If Microchip just recently broke it why don't you go back to the last version that did work?

I kill these little annoyances with autoit ( http://www.autoitscript.com/autoit3/ )
-autoit waits invisibly in the background for the programming completed confirmation
-autoit sends keystroke to release reset
-autoit go's back to waiting for programming completed confirmation
everyone is happy again till Microchip had time to fix the problem
