I wrote it on Linux, but doesn't use anything fancier than read(), so it should compile on most platforms (BSD/Solaris/Windows etc) with little or no effort. It also documents the protocol for those that want to roll their own. I suspect the same chip was used in other meters, so other meters with 14 bytes of data may be compatible. Oh yeah - if you've got one of these meters then open it up and look at the isolation used on the serial port.
