And Microchip hasn't noticed or doesn't care about the problem and none of the engineers that have a lot more knowledge of the ICD2 than you can possibly have never tried to find and deal with the problems? Then the ICD2 problems have to be on the host side. I actually suspect they have more to do with the ICD2 to chip interface than they do with the host to ICD2 interface. Methinks you are protesting on emotional or philosophical grounds without any real substance.
