C/C++ is a local optimum: - for students: learning C/C++ - for universities: teaching C/C++ - for companies: using C/C++ - for tool vendors: creating/selling C/C++ tools Each of these contribute to the "lockup". But this should not be a surprise. We live in a world of local optima: The PC keyboard, the Intel architecture, the imperial measurement system, the ASCII character set, etc. -- Wouter van Ooijen -- ------------------------------------------- Van Ooijen Technische Informatica: www.voti.nl consultancy, development, PICmicro products docent Hogeschool van Utrecht: www.voti.nl/hvu -- http://www.piclist.com PIC/SX FAQ & list archive View/change your membership options at http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist
