Ever since we implemented a system that blocks messages from known spam servers, the flood of spam became a tiny trickle. SpamAssasin marks the two or four messages per day that do manage to get through as "SPAM", and my mail client neatly puts them in a folder so I can review them at my leisure (it's been months since a ham message was mistakenly caught). I think that changing your domain and hosting every year, together with your other suggestions (e.g., using non-standard email account names) is much more hassle for you, your friends, and your customers than deleting a handful of spam messages.
