By the way, for the PICkit 2 serial port emulation, here is another
utility for Linux.

The main missing piece is the program to go function for Linux
(and maybe Mac OS X) now.

Here's a small C program to bridge the serial port mode
on the PK2 with v2 firmware to stdio, which could then
be used together with socat to map to socket/pty/...

When it's stable I'll package it properly.  Until then,
