Want to make or buy a solid state digital audio recorder, with the capability of recording CD quality audio and lower rates. 44.1kHz * 2 channels * 16 bits * 3600 sec = 5,080,320,000 bits = 635,040,000 8-bit bytes of storage required. Only need basic controls: rec, play, stop, ff, rew; display desirable but not crucial. Has such a kit ever been released? I guess the storage device would ideally be a USB memory stick these days. Otherwise I'll have to buy whatever Argos keep in stock...
