I'll be using CAN then. What is CAN usually set up > over? RS485? CAN is limited to 1Mbps. RS485 can usually go much faster. Profibus uses RS485 and can go up to 12Mbps. We use RS485 as one of the backplanes which goes up to 16Mbps and use proprietory upper layers.
