Well FWIW I did install the remix (from the USB img, very cool). Aside from the "new" GUI it looks like a normal install of Ubuntu. I gave the new GUI a couple hours but just couldn't stand it, fortunately Ubuntu makes it exceedingly easy to switch to the "normal" desktop. So far, Jaunty is VERY impressive. Wireless worked without a hitch, we'll see if the WPA2 with PEAP is more stable (had stability problems with both Hardy and Intrepid). We use PEAP for work. The system seems MUCH more responsive. I installed with ext4, don't know if this is a mistake or not, we'll see. Boot time from hibernate unfortunately doesn't seem at all faster, and may even be slower. To solve the samba problem I'm trying an upgrade to Jaunty on my home machine now, the install iso I downloaded won't boot, so I'm doing it the "upgrade" way! :) Only hitch is since I was running Hardy (8.04) I had to upgrade to Intrepid (8.10) first, now I'm upgrading to Jaunty (9.04).
