But it is not difficult either. rc.conf is the main place you need to edit and I actually prefer this to other methods. Being a Ubuntu user, we are all spoiled with the GUI but then once problem starts, it is difficult to solve in the GUI of Ubuntu. So I now actually know why Arch is also getting quite some good attentions. One aspect is less distro specific customization. The other is performance. But I think its main feature (rolling release) may not be good for many people who just want to get things done and do not want to deal with constant major updates. It does have Nvidia driver and you can install that using pacman. Then you can run nvidia-xconfig to get X working. Arch Linux forum seems to be quite good.
