What I can say > though, is that I *have* seen it work at least once... ;-) That is the problem with Samba. Normally it works. But sometimes it just does not work. Actually I could not mount the XP share under Ubuntu 8.10 after trying different methods. That is why I did not post data with Ubuntu 8.10. I can do that with Fedora 10 and Arch Linux without an issue. Similar problems. http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1082148 I actually tried all the methods (firewall, firefox, etc) and all did not fix the issue. mcuee@ubuntu810:~$ sudo smbtree -N WORKGROUP \\Q-WY timeout connecting to 192.168.1.103:445 timeout connecting to 192.168.1.103:139 cli_start_connection: failed to connect to Q-WY<20> (0.0.0.0). Yes. I will probably wait one week and do it during the long weekend of May 1 holiday. -- Xiaofan http://mcuee.blogspot.com -- http://www.piclist.com PIC/SX FAQ & list archive View/change your membership options at http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist
