I went back and looked at the Bosch spec from 1991 that I had in a notebook and found the same thing you did. However, I do remember reading about the differential signalling, impedence of the twisted pair, etc. After all, these things still have to agree in any one implementation, and semiconductor companies would not have invested in the development of chips that connect directly to the physical link if there wasn't some kind of agreement on what that should be. My recollection is that I read the physical layer details in a Bosch document somewhere over a decade ago, but I can't find that now so I could be wrong. ******************************************************************** Embed Inc, Littleton Massachusetts, http://www.embedinc.com/products (978) 742-9014.
