Yes, I have been a contractor and all sorts of exciting things have  
happened.
1)  I was fired for purported sexual harrasment.
2)  I fired myself because I was being paid to have lunch with the CEO.
        That was my main job.
3)  I was fired for my opinions about rape.   We were just chatting  
and the
conversation wandered onto the subject of rape.  Actually this  
happened twice.
Once a man fired me and once a woman fired me.
4)   I was fired as an employee ( I was lead engineer ) and my  
replacement
    hired me as a contractor at twice the hourly rate.
5)  One time when I was a contractor ( shame on me ) , I thought the  
project was stupid
        and I told my employers so.  It took them about 2 weeks to  
fire me.
6)   There are more but I am out of time at the moment.
