Many of the older books are written to show you how to solve problems, the actual language seems secondary. I've got "Turbo C - The Complete Reference" from 1998 that does just that. I've never used Turbo C, but why toss a book that explains lists, graphics manipulation, heuristics, interpreters and so on?
