If they were dried completely, I think it sounds logical that this would work. Given that you're scraping off infinitesimal bits of dead skin and hair that you might not even be able to see with the naked eye and that might not rinse off in a simple water flow (how hard is it just to get the "normal" visible gunk out? Since I don't shave every single day, my beard hair tends to be longer and clogs up the blades pretty quickly), and that that "gunk" will probably trap water against the blades and/or contain remnants of your shave lotion/cream with who-knows-what in it that'll impact the blades, getting them pristinely clean with ultrasonics presumably would let them last longer. I'm happy to test it empirically - as I said, given my current rate of shaving, I switch blades every other month or so. I'll simply start keeping track, and test it both ways. I have a professional (dental surplus) ultrasonic cleaner in the bathroom that I use for jewelry. I'll start with my next blade change, and should have results for you in about 4 months. ;) On Thu, Feb 19, 2009 at 2:31 PM, pic@gavin-egan.com wrote: > Well the link was tenuous at best but I was primarily wondering (and this > seemed to elude most) if an ultrasonic cleaner would make the blades last > longer as they would be clear of debris and therefore not rot/corrode > etc.... at least I think that's what I meant. > > > > -----Original Message----- > From: piclist-bounces@mit.edu [mailto:piclist-bounces@mit.edu] On Behalf > Of > Minto Witteveen > Sent: Friday, February 20, 2009 10:42 AM > To: Microcontroller discussion list - Public. > Subject: Re: [OT] Shaving !!! > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Thomas Coyle" > To: "Microcontroller discussion list - Public." > Sent: Wednesday, February 18, 2009 20:00 > Subject: Re: [OT] Shaving !!! > > > > > Hey, shaving is important for nerds/dorks/geeks/engineers.
