A photo would be great -----Original Message----- From: piclist-bounces@mit.edu [mailto:piclist-bounces@mit.edu] On Behalf Of Thomas Coyle Sent: Thursday, February 19, 2009 4:05 PM To: Microcontroller discussion list - Public. Subject: Re: [OT] Shaving !!! There's an unfortunate repercussion of cutthroats no longer being generally available - the difficulty in finding double-sided razor blades. If I don't use such a razor, why would I want those blades? They make an excellent beam-stop for high-powered lasers. I have a 1-watt-ish argon, and a 150W CO2 laser, and by taking a hundred double-sided razors and binding them together with machine screws, the thinness of the blades combined with the sharp edges causes light to just stop dead by reflection between the blades. I'll have to post a picture sometime - it's pretty spectacular if you haven't seen it before; no matter how bright your light, the side of the beam-stop just looks flat black. When I was making it, I had to turn to Ebay to buy my blades, at extortionist rates.
