Hi! I'm at component identification phase without satisfactory success so far for an IC that could multiplex from at least 3 video composite sources, without noticeable loss of quality, and that (even better) could either tell my microcontroller which of its inputs are active (i.e. video signal is valid) or automatically switch back (following a priority, e.g. channel 0 has the highest priority) to the lower priority channel in case the video signal on the selected input is absent. In short what I want to do is to freely switch at least 3 input video sources, but since I will be recording without any visual feedback of what's being recorded, and the sources could fail, then I want to make sure that I am recording something anyway (so I thought that another possible way could be to check just the output of the multiplexer for "video good" signal, and act on the multiplexer accordingly). If no chip exists can can do that, could you please at least suggest a good composite video multiplexer (possibly from TI catalog)?
